MESSAGES FROM THE GOVERNOR

House Bill No. 2468

An Act concerning education; relating to federal tax credits for contributions to scholarship granting organizations; electing to participate in the federal tax credit for individual contributions to scholarship granting organizations; relating to the tax credit for low income students scholarship program; increasing the aggregate tax credit limit; amending K.S.A. 2025 Supp. 72-4357 and repealing the existing section.

Message to the Legislature of the State of Kansas

After years of neglect and budget disasters before I took office, we’ve worked hard to make sure Kansas’ public schools are fully funded and back on track. We must prioritize meaningful increases in Special Education funding over expanding the private school tax credit program. I will continue to fight for the full funding of our public schools.

Therefore, pursuant to Article 2, Section 14(a) of the Constitution of the State of Kansas, I hereby veto House Bill 2468.
