House Concurrent Resolution No. 5033
A Concurrent Resolution ratifying the State of Disaster Emergency declaration issued on February 24, 2026, by Governor Laura Kelly in response to the impacts of wildfires affecting certain counties; providing for the continuation thereof through March 25, 2026.
WHEREAS, On February 24, 2026, Governor Laura Kelly issued a State of Disaster Emergency declaration in response to wildfires in the state. Such State of Disaster Emergency was declared in Allen, Barber, Barton, Bourbon, Chautauqua, Cherokee, Cheyenne, Clark, Clay, Cloud, Comanche, Cowley, Crawford, Decatur, Dickinson, Edwards, Elk, Ellis, Ellsworth, Finney, Ford, Gove, Graham, Grant, Gray, Greeley, Hamilton, Harper, Haskell, Hodgeman, Jewell, Kearny, Kingman, Kiowa, Labette, Lane, Lincoln, Linn, Logan, Marshall, McPherson, Meade, Mitchell, Montgomery, Morton, Neosho, Ness, Norton, Osborne, Ottawa, Pawnee, Phillips, Pratt, Rawlins, Reno, Republic, Rice, Riley, Rooks, Rush, Russell, Saline, Scott, Seward, Sheridan, Sherman, Smith, Stafford, Stanton, Stevens, Sumner, Thomas, Trego, Wallace, Washington, Wichita and Wilson counties: Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of Kansas, the Senate concurring therein: That the State of Disaster Emergency declaration issued on February 24, 2026, for Allen, Barber, Barton, Bourbon, Chautauqua, Cherokee, Cheyenne, Clark, Clay, Cloud, Comanche, Cowley, Crawford, Decatur, Dickinson, Edwards, Elk, Ellis, Ellsworth, Finney, Ford, Gove, Graham, Grant, Gray, Greeley, Hamilton, Harper, Haskell, Hodgeman, Jewell, Kearny, Kingman, Kiowa, Labette, Lane, Lincoln, Linn, Logan, Marshall, McPherson, Meade, Mitchell, Montgomery, Morton, Neosho, Ness, Norton, Osborne, Ottawa, Pawnee, Phillips, Pratt, Rawlins, Reno, Republic, Rice, Riley, Rooks, Rush, Russell, Saline, Scott, Seward, Sheridan, Sherman, Smith, Stafford, Stanton, Stevens, Sumner, Thomas, Trego, Wallace, Washington, Wichita and Wilson counties of Kansas in accordance with K.S.A. 48-924 is hereby ratified and continued in force and effect on and after February 24, 2026, through March 25, 2026.
