Notice of Hearing
A public hearing will be held at 9:00 a.m. January 21, 2025, in the offices of Kansas Development Finance Authority, 534 S. Kansas Ave., Suite 800, Topeka, Kansas, on the proposal for the Kansas Development Finance Authority (Authority) to issue its Agricultural Development Revenue Bonds for the Project(s) numbered below, in the respective maximum principal amounts. The Bond(s) will be issued to assist the respective borrower (Beginning Farmer) named below (who will be the owner and operator of the respective Project) to finance the cost in the amount of the Bond, which is then typically purchased by a lender bank (“Lender”) who then through Kansas Development Finance Authority, loans the bond proceeds to the borrower for the purposes of acquiring the respective Project(s) as described below. Each Project shall be located as shown:
Project No. 001148 Maximum Principal Amount: $649,400. Owner/Operator: Derek A. and Shelly D. Jones; Description: Acquisition of 144 acres of agricultural land and related improvements and equipment to be used by the owner/operator for farming purposes (the "Project"). The Project is being financed by the Lender for Derek A. and Shelly D. Jones (the "Beginning Farmer") and is located at Section 9, Township 5, Range 18 East, Atchison County, Kansas, approximately 1 mile east of Everest, Kansas on Highway 73, then 2 miles south on Douglas Road.
Project No. 001156 Maximum Principal Amount: $162,400. Owner/Operator: Jared and Amanda Mocaby; Description: Acquisition of 112 acres of agricultural land and related improvements and equipment to be used by the owner/operator for farming purposes (the "Project"). The Project is being financed by the Lender for Jared and Amanda Mocaby (the "Beginning Farmer") and is located in Section 26, Township 7, Range 31, Thomas County, Kansas, approximately 4 miles south of Rexford, Kansas on County Road 36.
Each Bond when issued, will be a limited obligation of the Kansas Development Finance Authority and will not constitute a general obligation or indebtedness of the State of Kansas or any political subdivision thereof, including the Authority, nor will it be an indebtedness for which the faith and credit and taxing powers of the State of Kansas are pledged, but each Bond will be payable solely and only from amounts received from the respective borrower, the obligation of which will be sufficient to pay the principal of, interest and redemption premium, if any, on each Bond as and when it shall become due.

At the time and place fixed for the hearings, all individuals who appear will be given an opportunity to express their views for or against the proposal to issue any specific Bond for the purpose of financing the respective Project, and all written comments previously filed with the Authority at its offices at 534 S. Kansas Avenue, Suite 800, Topeka, KS 66603, will be considered. Additional information regarding any of the projects described above may be obtained by contacting the Authority at the address of its offices shown above.
