Public Notice
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment, Division of Health Care Finance (KDHE-DHCF) is amending the Kansas Medicaid State Plan. In conjunction with the 12 months of uninterrupted continuous eligibility (CE) for children under the age of 19 provided by Section 5112 of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023 (CAA, 2023), the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) is restructuring the lockout for non-payment of CHIP premiums. Children will not be disenrolled during the 12-month continuous eligibility period. Families who fail to pay premiums for two months, consecutive or non-consecutive, during the 12-month continuous eligibility period will be considered delinquent and shall be ineligible at the 12-month review for continued CHIP coverage through the end of the 90-day lockout period.
The proposed effective date for the State Plan Amendment (SPA) is January 1, 2024.
