Notice Concerning Kansas Voluntary Cleanup and Property Redevelopment Program

In accordance with K.S.A. 65-34,173, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) reports the following summary on behalf of the Voluntary Cleanup and Property Redevelopment Program for year 2023. During this annual reporting period, KDHE received five (5) applications with a cumulative total of 797 applications. The categories of applicants include agriculture (31%), industry (19%), commercial (19%), oil and gas (25%), and government (6%). A total of two (2) sites were remediated in 2023 with a cumulative total of 158 sites remediated. A total of six (6) sites were issued No Further Action (NFA) Determination Letters in 2023. A cumulative total of 418 sites have been issued NFA letters.
