Notice of Hearing

Pursuant to K.S.A. 75-37,143(d), the State Building Advisory Commission will conduct a public hearing at 9:00 a.m. January 10, 2024, in Suite 1200, 12th Floor, Eisenhower State Office Building, 700 SW Harrison St., Topeka, Kansas. Check in at the front desk with security is required.

The purpose of the hearing is for the public to have an opportunity to comment on a request from Pittsburg State University to utilize Construction Management At-Risk (CMAR) alternate project delivery method for expansion of the Tyler Research Center in Pittsburg, Kansas.

The university plans the expansion to serve as a prove out facility, part of an initiative to re-shore technology-based jobs and production to the region while providing state of the art research and advanced manufacturing space for academic, industry, and broader community use. Testing labs, office, and other support spaces along with a high bay production area and road access will complement the existing facility and allow for additional expansion. The existing facility is located at 1204 Research Road and is part of a research park with potential for growth.

Construction costs are estimated at $9,000,000.
