Notice Concerning Amendment to Kansas Air Quality Construction Permit
Notice is hereby given that the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) is soliciting comments regarding the amendment of two previously issued air quality construction permits. MGPI Processing, Inc., 1300 Main St., Atchison, KS 66002, owns and operates the stationary source located at 1300 Main St., Atchison, Atchison County, KS 66002. Certain requirements were found to no longer be appropriate in the construction permits dated July 9, 2021 (CSP02955v1.0) and July 26, 2021 (CSP00022v1.1). These requirements are being modified.
A copy of the modification is available for public inspection, from the date of publication, during normal business hours, at the KDHE, Bureau of Air (BOA), 1000 SW Jackson, Suite 310, Topeka, KS 66612-1366, and at the Northeast District Office, 800 W. 24th St., Lawrence, KS 66049. To obtain or review the modification, contact Jonathan Tennis, 785-296-1581, at the central office of the KDHE, and to review the proposed permit only, contact Wendi Kessler, 785-842-4600, at the Northeast District Office. The standard departmental cost will be assessed for any copies requested.
Please direct written comments or questions regarding the proposed modification to Jonathan Tennis, KDHE, BOA, 1000 SW Jackson, Suite 310, Topeka, KS 66612-1366. In order to be considered in formulating a final permit decision, written comments must be received no later than the 12:00 p.m. Monday, October 23, 2023.
A person may request a public hearing be held on the proposed modification. The request for a public hearing shall be in writing and set forth the basis for the request. The written request must be submitted to Jonathan Tennis, KDHE, BOA, 1000 SW Jackson, Suite 310, Topeka, KS 66612-1366, no later than 12:00 p.m. Monday, October 23, 2023, in order for the Secretary of Health and Environment to consider the request.
