Notice of Hearing
A public hearing will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2023, to consider a proposed appraisal directive (#23-039) outlining the assessment classification and valuation of bed and breakfast and other mixed-use facilities, including hotel/motel and RV park properties. For convenience, the hearing will be held at the Flint Hills training room in the Property Valuation Division Office, 300 SW 29th St., Topeka, Kansas, as well as having remote access. Participants wanting to participate shall contact Bob Kent at the Division of Property Valuation, 300 SW 29th St., PO Box 3506, Topeka, KS 66601-3506, by email at bob.kent@ks.gov or by phone at 785-296-4104 for instructions.
This 60-day notice of the public hearing shall constitute a public comment period for the purposes of receiving written public comments on the proposed appraisal directive. All interested parties may submit written comments prior to the hearing to the Division of Property Valuation, Attn: Bob Kent, 300 SW 29th St., PO Box 3506, Topeka, KS 66601-3506 or by email at bob.kent@ks.gov. All interested parties will be given a reasonable opportunity to present their views orally on the adoption of the proposed appraisal directive during the hearing. In order to give all parties an opportunity to present their views, it may be necessary to limit any oral presentation to five minutes.
The proposed appraisal directive may be accessed on the Division of Property Valuation website at https://www.ksrevenue.gov/pvddirtoc.html. Copies of the proposed appraisal directive may also be obtained by contacting the Division of Property Valuation at the address or email indicated above.
This proposed directive has no significant economic impact.
