HB 2400, AN ACT concerning agritourism; including trail rides as a ranching activity to qualify as an agritourism activity; classifying such land as used for agritourism for purposes of property tax valuation as agricultural land; amending K.S.A. 2024 Supp. 32-1432 and 79-1476 and repealing the existing sections, by Committee on Taxation.

HB 2401, AN ACT concerning crimes, punishment and criminal procedure; relating to sentencing; providing that prior convictions of a crime defined by a statute that has since been determined unconstitutional by an appellate court shall not be used for criminal history scoring purposes unless the basis of the determination of unconstitutionality by the appellate court is later overruled or reversed; amending K.S.A. 21-6810 and repealing the existing section, by Committee on Federal and State Affairs.

HB 2402, AN ACT concerning education; creating the blue ribbon commission on higher education; establishing the membership and purpose of the commission; requiring the submission of preliminary and final reports to the legislature on the commission’s findings and recommendations, by Committee on Appropriations.

HB 2403, AN ACT concerning public health; relating to the disposal of a decedent’s remains; establishing the order of priority of a decedent’s surviving parents who cannot agree on the disposition of such decedent’s remains; amending K.S.A. 65-1734 and repealing the existing section, by Committee on Federal and State Affairs.
