Notice of Requested Architectural, Engineering, and Laboratory Specialist Services
Notice is hereby given of the commencement of the selection process for architectural, mechanical-electrical-plumbing engineering, structural engineering, civil engineering, and laboratory specialist services for Kansas State University’s Bioprocessing and Industrial Value Added Products Innovation Center (BIVAP). The BIVAP remodel and addition project consist of three phases.
Phase I will include design of all other phases. Partial 2nd floor work to include a biomanufacturing core and training facility. The proposed functions include Iso 5, 6, and 7 clean room space for media prep, media production, quality control and equipment space. Locker and restroom space for procedural requirements of this area are also within phase I renovation area. Phase II includes an addition to BIVAP as well as renovation within the existing building to accomplish research space expansion along with additional Pilot Plant equipment storage. 10 assignable research laboratory areas are shown as part of the phase II work in order to supplement the available core research and partnership research areas across the KSU campus. Phase III scope of the work is focused on the northwest corner of the existing BIVAP facility with a 2-story addition that will accomplish dedicated areas for partnership research space. BIVAP Phase I funded construction to be completed by July 2027. KSU is soliciting design services for Phase I services. We anticipate subsequent phases in the fall under this contract as funding becomes available. The project construction budget is $17,302,050.

State of Kansas Professional Qualifications DCC Form 050 for each firm and consultant should be provided at the end of each proposal. Please include your firm name, agency abbreviation, and an abbreviated project name in the title of the PDF document. Proposals should be less than 5 Mb and follow the current State Building Advisory Commission guidelines which can be found in Part B – Chapter 2 of the Building Design and Construction Manual at https://admin.ks.gov/offices/facilities-property-management/design-construction--compliance/building-design-and-construction-manual-bdcm. Paper copies and flash drives containing copies of the proposals are not required.
Proposals should be sent to professional.qualifications@ks.gov. Proposals received after the date and time noted below will not be forwarded to the State Building Advisory Commission for review. The PDF proposal submissions shall be delivered to the attention of the State Building Advisory Commission by 2:00 p.m. on or before March 21, 2025.
