Notice of Hearing

Public Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Kansas Development Finance Authority (the “Authority”) at 9:15 a.m. November 15, 2024, in the conference room in the offices of the Authority, 534 S. Kansas Ave., Suite 800, Topeka, Kansas, concerning a plan of finance involving the issuance by the Iowa Finance Authority of one or more series of qualified 501(c)(3) revenue bonds in a maximum stated principal amount of $180,000,000 (the “Bonds”) for the purpose of making the proceeds of the Bonds available to Lifespace Communities, Inc., an Iowa nonprofit corporation (the “Corporation”), to finance, refinance, and reimburse costs of life care communities for the Corporation.

The Corporation expects to use a portion of the proceeds of the Bonds to finance the costs of additions, renovations, remodeling, equipping, and miscellaneous capital improvements to the community located at 8101 Mission Rd., Prairie Village, KS 66208, known as Claridge Court, in an amount not expected to exceed $10,000,000.

This public hearing does not impose any liability on the Authority or the State of Kansas but is an accommodation by the Authority to satisfy the requirements of Section 147(f) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended.

Interested individuals are encouraged to participate in the public hearing via conference call. Please call toll-free number 844-621-3956 and use conference identification number 145 880 8929 followed by # to join the hearing.

All individuals who wish to participate in the hearing, including those physically present and those joining via conference call, will be given an opportunity to express their views for or against the proposed Bonds, and all written comments previously filed with the Authority at its offices at 534 S. Kansas Ave., Suite 800, Topeka, Kansas, will be considered. Additional information regarding the Bonds and the projects described above may be obtained by contacting the Authority at the address of its offices shown above.
