Executive Order No. 24-02
Governor’s Reward for Information Regarding the Murder of Joanne Johnson

WHEREAS, the Augusta Police Department and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (“KBI”) are investigating the murder of Joanne Johnson (93 years old), who was found murdered in her home in Augusta, Kansas on September 3, 2023; and

WHEREAS, the Augusta Police Department and the KBI conducted an exhaustive investigation; including conducting a large number of interviews, submitting multiple items of physical evidence for examination, and conducting multiple search warrants; and

WHEREAS, the Augusta Police Department and the KBI believe that a Governor’s Reward would help locate and capture person(s) responsible for the homicide in this case.

NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the authority vested in me as Governor of the State of Kansas by K.S.A 75-113, I do hereby offer a reward of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) for information leading to the apprehension and conviction of any person responsible for Joanne Johnson’s murder.

This document shall be filed with the Secretary of State as Executive Order No. 24-02 and shall become effective immediately.
