Notice of Hearing
Pursuant to K.S.A. 75-37,143(d), the State Building Advisory Commission will conduct a public hearing at 9:00 a.m. February 14, 2024, in Suite 1200, 12th Floor, Eisenhower State Office Building, 700 SW Harrison Str., Topeka, Kansas. Check in at the front desk with security is required.
The purpose of the hearing is for the public to have an opportunity to comment on a request from Kansas State University (KSU) to utilize Construction Management At-Risk (CMAR) alternate project delivery method for the Kansas State University Strong Hall Complex renovations.
The Strong Complex Community, comprised of Boyd, Van Zile and Putnam buildings, are a strong anchor for residential life at KSU, and are the oldest residence halls on campus. These buildings were designed in gothic style and are located on the east end of campus, south of the Derby Complex. The goal of this project is to reimagine the use of these buildings to create a distinctive learning/living community that will serve as a home to the Honors Program, and foster leadership, engagement, and service activities, where high-achieving students are inspired to thrive academically and personally. This reimagined complex will include office spaces, conference rooms, seminar rooms, a dining hall, residential halls with lounge spaces.
Construction costs are estimated at $24,000,000.
