Notice to Bidders

The State Association of Kansas Watersheds (SAKW) will accept sealed bids, in single copy, for the work described herein until 2:00 p.m. (Central Time) November 7, 2023, mailed to SAKW, Olivia Bergmeier, Executive Director, 950 Scott Blvd., South Hutchinson, KS 67505, and at that time publicly opened.

The work consists of operation and maintenance inspections of 277 PL-566 dams; completion of reports for all dams on KS-ADS-8 distributed to designated Watershed Districts, NRCS Supervisory District Conservationists, and Kansas Department of Agriculture’s Division of Conservation (KDA/DOC); and uploading of all reports to DamWatch.

The successful bidder will be required to execute the SAKW contract. The work must commence no sooner than January 1, 2024 and be completed by December 31, 2024. As a secondary requirement, 139 dams must be inspected, reported with distribution and uploading to DamWatch by June 30, 2024.

No bid or performance surety is required for this proposal. A certificate of insurance covering all inspectors and the vehicles they drive is required.

A $750 per day penalty will be assessed for any specified work not completed by the June 30, 2024 or December 31, 2024 deadlines.

Upon request to Olivia Bergmeier, SAKW Executive Director, 316-712-4929, or executive.director@sakw.org, a bid packet will be emailed to each prospective bidder. The bid packet will contain: a bid form; performance specifications; a listing of all Watershed District contacts, dam site numbers, NRCS Supervisory District Conservationists, and KDA/DOC contacts and KS-ADS-8, front and back inspection form.
