Public Notice
On April 29, 2022, the following counties in Kansas experienced severe weather that destroyed or damaged homes and property: Butler, Dickinson, Greenwood, Jackson, Jefferson, Marion, Morris, Pottawatomie, Sedgwick, Wabaunsee, and Washington. This resulted in many individuals needing to replace their identity documents. The individuals will be required to obtain a certified copy of their respective birth certificate and possibly a marriage license to replace their official documents.
Therefore, I, Janet Stanek, Secretary of the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, do suspend the provisions of the regulatory statutes and rules and regulations prescribing the requirement for fee assessment to obtain certified copies of birth and marriage certificates for victims of this disaster.
Dated May 2, 2022.
