Notice to Bidders
The Flint Hills Area Transportation Agency, Inc. (FHATA) is soliciting firm fixed bids for the construction of the following projects:
- Flint Hills Garden and Dillon’s West Loop Bus Stops in Manhattan, Kansas
Bids for construction of the project will be received until 2:00 p.m. (CDT) Friday, April 22, 2022, at the FHATA Facility, 5815 Marlatt Ave., Manhattan, Kansas. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked: Bid #: FY22-2004
Public bid opening will be hosted in person and via Zoom at 1:00 p.m. (CDT) Friday, April 22, 2022. The location and call information are provided in the bid documentation (Section C Bid Schedule) and can be found at https://www.fhata.org/open-solicitations.
The project includes the following work:
- Bus Shelter fabrication and installation, ADA accessible sidewalks, curb and gutter, and all other work include in the plans.
The issuing office for the bidding documents is Olsson, Inc., Attn: Brayson Benne, 302 S. 4th St., Suite 110, Manhattan, KS 66502.
Bidding documents may be obtained from the office of the engineer, Olsson, Inc. Prices for paper plans and project manuals are as follows:
- Full size plan set and project manual: $100
- Half-size plan set and project manual: $50
- Digital CD or emailed PDF: no charge
To request plans and project manuals, email Brayson Benne at bbenne@olsson.com. Checks should be mailed to Olsson, Inc., 302 S. 4th St., Suite 110, Manhattan, KS 66502.
A pre-bid conference will be held at 2:00 p.m. (CDT) Friday April 8, 2022, at the FHATA facility, 5815 Marlatt Ave., Manhattan, Kansas. A Zoom option will also be available. Zoom information can be found in the bid packet at https://www.fhata.org/open-solicitations. The meeting is not mandatory; however, any questions, comments, or requests for clarifications are due by the end of day Friday April 8, 2022 and should be provided to Melanie Tuttle in writing via email at mtuttle@fhata.org or Brayson Benne at bbenne@olsson.com.
Every successful bidder shall supply a performance bond and a payment bond executed by a corporate surety licensed in the State of Kansas in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price as part of this contract.
In connection with carrying out this project, the bidder shall not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, religion, color, sex, age, national origin, or handicap. The FHATA reserves the right to solicit or to waive a new solicitation, for new bids if sufficient effort, as determined by the FHATA, has not been made to comply with the DBE goals and requirements.
The FHATA reserves the right to accept or to reject any and/or all bids, to re-advertise for bids, to waive any informality in any proposal, and to determine the most responsive bid by its own criteria, as described within the specifications.
All prospective bidders should notify Melanie Tuttle via email intent to bid at mtuttle@fhata.org. It is the bidder’s responsibility to check the website for any addendums and signature sheets prior to submitting their bids at https://www.fhata.org/open-solicitations. The FHATA will not be responsible for communicating with firms that do no not notify us of their interest in this solicitation.
