The Kansas Department of Health and Environment, Division of Health Care Finance (KDHE-DHCF) is amending the Kansas Medicaid State Plan. In response to the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 (CAA), the state is adding to the Alternative Benefit Plan (ABP) the new mandatory benefit to cover routine patient costs for services furnished in connection with participation in qualifying clinical trials. The state assures that as outlined in 42 CFR ยง440.345, EPSDT services will continue to be available to all eligible ABP beneficiaries.
The effective date for the state plan amendment (SPA) is January 1, 2022.
