Secretary Schwab Reminds Kansans: One Week Left to Register to Vote

Tuesday, October 6, 2026

TOPEKA – Kansas Secretary of State Scott Schwab reminds Kansans that the deadline to register to vote in the November 3 general election is one week away, October 13. All qualified Kansans who are not registered to vote must submit a voter registration application by the deadline to participate in the general election.

Kansans who have recently moved or changed their name will also need to update their voter registration information. Eligible voters who will be 18 years old by November 3 can also register to vote. They can do so by visiting votekansas.gov or contacting their county election office.

“This one-week notice serves as a reminder that the deadline isn’t just for new registrants,” Secretary Schwab said. “It’s also for any Kansan who has had a name or address change and needs to update their voter registration to participate in the election.”
