Secretary Scott Schwab Announces New Agreement to Improve Voter Roll Accuracy
Tuesday, November 18, 2025
TOPEKA – Kansas Secretary of State Scott Schwab today announced a new partnership with the State of Missouri to enhance voter roll maintenance and improve the accuracy of voter registration records in both states.
Under the agreement, Kansas and Missouri will securely share voter registration information to identify voters who have moved between the two states but may still be registered in their previous jurisdiction. Missouri is a particularly important partner in this effort, given the frequent movement of residents across the border. This collaboration supports both election integrity and efficient election administration.
“By working directly with Missouri, we can reduce duplicate registrations created when residents move across the state line by updating voter registration records timely and as allowed by law,” Schwab said.
This partnership reflects a broader regional and national trend of states proactively updating voter rolls through direct cooperation. Kansas recently announced it has entered into a similar agreement with Texas.
