Regulations are enacted by an agency to implement or interpret legislation. Permanent regulations are filed in the Secretary of State's office and
published in the Kansas Administrative Regulations (K.A.R.). Temporary regulations are published in the Kansas Register, but are not published in the K.A.R. hard copy books.
The 2019 Supplement Book 1
and Book 2
to the Kansas Administrative Regulations contains the most current version of permanent regulations filed in 2009 through 2018, and supplements the 2009 K.A.R. Volumes.
The 2009 K.A.R. contains the most current version of permanent regulations filed through December 31, 2008. A person may choose to view the PDF listings of the

To find the most current version of a regulation use our online searchable K.A.R. or
- check the table of contents in the most current issue of the Kansas Register
- then the Index to Regulations in the back of the most current Kansas Register
- next check the current K.A.R. Supplement
- and finally check the current K.A.R. volume
If the regulation is found at any of these sequential steps, stop and consider that version the most recent.
